Personal Care communities offer a higher level of medical service than Assisted Living. Personal Care communities still provide a home like environment with amenities and services while providing for residents who may be experiencing a greater decline in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Like Assisted Living, Personal Care communities are not a nursing home. Personal Care Communities are also unique and range from simple to luxurious resort style living. Each community is unique so be sure to tour several to find the community that fits your specific needs and personality. The most common payment source is Private Pay, but most Long Term Care Insurance policies recognize Personal Care as a covered service.
